Wanna Help Haiti?

Here’s how to do it MY LIFE style:

GO SHOPPING! (not without your parents permission and some $$)

Put these items inside a sealed one-gallon plastic bag:

1 Hand towel (15”X25” up to 17”X27”, no kitchen towels)

1 Washcloth

1 Comb (large & sturdy, not pocket-sized)

1 Nail file or fingernail clippers (no emery boards or toenail clippers)

1 Bath-sized bar of soap (3oz & up)

1 Toothbrush (single brushes ONLY in original wrapper, no child-sized brushes)

6 Adhesive plastic strip sterile bandages

$1 to purchase toothpaste

(NOTE: UMCOR Sager Brown is now purchasing toothpaste in bulk to be added to health kits before shipping to ensure that the product does not expire before being sent)

IMPORTANT INFO:

All items must be NEW! (Sorry, no nappy towels or stained rags needed)

All emergency kits are carefully planned to make them useable in the greatest number of situations. Since strict rules often govern product entry into international countries, it is important that the kits contain ONLY the requested items – nothing more. (Thanks for being generous, but we don’t want to take a year to get through customs!!)

Do NOT include any personal notes, money or additional materials in the kits. These things must be painstakingly removed and will delay the shipment. (Again, if we find any special additions to the kit, we will trace it back to you, hide it in a million packing peanuts and make you dig it out with your teeth!)

JUST SHIP IT!

Here’s how: Bring it to WUMC Church office, Youth Group, Youth Community, Sunday School, or church. Give it to someone who looks like they work here or at least might know how to get it to Haiti.

Gimme A “V”

We Need Volunteers!

All adults who transport or meet with the teens must be cleared and approved by filling out forms, police check, attending Safe Sanctuary training and meeting guidelines for safe interactions with children and teens. Contact the church office for the latest training dates and times.

All youth must fill out a Medical Form with insurance information to participate in church activities
